![]() ![]() Is there some hardcoded OUI fuckery going on with them? server has old software, your phones probably wont retrieve their configurations-which for polycom phones are just XML files. Should one happen to find themselves in that environment, then, this information is handy to know if you get a new shipment of phones to replace old/aging/defective devices with this new MAC addr block and your prov. A call center environment where phones are frequently pulled out of production or are constantly being reconfigured for new employees would benefit from having a central provisioning appliance with firmware staged. ![]() One legit reason I can think of is if you (like a few I have seen) run your own provisioning server. We recommend that all partners start looking now at 5.4.3 to support the entire VVX line-including the new DECT Phone, the VVX D60.Ĥ.Polycom is developing hot patches for all major software releases prior to 5.4 to support the new address blocks. This means that in as little as 4-12 months we may be sold out of the old address block.Ģ.The new MAC prefix/format is as follow: 64:16:7F:xx:xx:xx.ģ.Software loads 5.4+ all support the new mac addresses. I just got this email from my polycom rep, consider this a PSA if you purchase and deploy polycom devices:ġ.Polycom is burning through our 00:04:F2:xx:xx:xx block of MAC addresses at a much faster pace than originally anticipated and recognizes that we may cycle through the remaining numbers within 2-3 months at the point of manufacturing. ![]()
